Pharma-Algi® wound dressings are absorbent and haemostatic dressings made from alginate nonwoven fibres, forming an effective absorbent pad. In the presence of exudate, these fibres absorb liquid and swell, with calcium ions being partially replaced by sodium, causing the dressing to adopt a gel-like appearance. This gel-like state creates a micro-environment conducive to wound healing, promoting optimal conditions for recovery.
Pharma-Algi® dressings are ideal for managing wounds with moderate to high exudate, providing both absorption and haemostatic properties to support the healing process.
